The ss16 rhinestone (around 4mm) is one of the most versatile and popular sizes in our hotfix flatback rhinestones range. It’s a hotfix crystal: its flat base carries a heat-activated adhesive, so you fix it with heat and no glue. Big enough to catch the light, small enough to combine without overpowering, ss16 is the size makers reach for again and again.
ss16 sits in the sweet spot of the “stone size” scale. At roughly 4mm, it gives a clear, even sparkle that works both for filling areas and for outlining shapes, borders and details. If you’re unsure whether to go small or medium, ss16 is the reliable middle ground that suits the widest range of projects.
Hotfix means the flat base has a layer of adhesive that melts with heat. Place the ss16 crystal adhesive-side down, apply heat with an iron, a hotfix applicator or a heat press, and let it cool to set. The result is a firm, durable bond with no glue, no mess and no drying time, which makes it especially convenient on fabric. Test on a small, hidden area first to find the right temperature for your material.
Thanks to its heat-fix flat base, the ss16 rhinestone applies easily to all kinds of surfaces:
A bright detail on pendants, earrings and bracelets, on its own or combined with 5328 bicone beads.
Ideal for hair combs, headpieces and flamenca pieces, where ss16 adds sparkle without weighing the design down.
Especially handy on textiles thanks to the hotfix system: personalize clothing, shoes and DIY projects with a luminous, lasting finish.
