Today we want to talk to you about a sometimes forgotten but always successful accessory that will give a touch of sophistication to your looks and that has many applications: feathers.

Depending on their nature, pheasant, ostrich, goose, cockerel, peacock, duck or marabou feathers are the most used in accessories. We love them in headdresses, headpieces and tiaras for wedding guests, as well as in textile decoration, whether in clothing or household items such as cushions. Here are some examples

Each of these formats allows us to use them in different accessories. The knobs and loose feathers are generally used in hair ornaments such as headdresses or pamelas, also for earrings, we have loose feathers with terminals already incorporated to hang them; however to customize dresses or party clothes the best ones will be the ones that come in fringe or also known as metre feathers or feathers by the metre.
If you want to be the perfect guest, this season you will get it right by adding a few centimetres of ostrich or rooster feathers to your dress. You can sew them easily, as they are presented on a bias tape; on cuffs, shoulder pads, back contour, as well as on the bottom of the garment. This last option is also very useful to lengthen skirts or dresses that are short.
Remember that although feathers for decoration and accessories are manufactured with a special treatment to guarantee their quality, colour, etc., they are still a delicate decorative element that cannot be machine washed, dried or ironed. It is also important to bear in mind that as it is a natural article, the dyes vary from one batch to another, so we advise you to make sure of the quantity you are going to need for your decoration with feathers.
